A Shamrockin' Soirée: Host your own St Patrick's Day Party

St. Patrick's Day, a celebration synonymous with merriment and revelry, provides the perfect occasion to gather friends and family for a spirited beer tasting party. Whether you're a seasoned beer enthusiast or just looking for a reason for a get-together, hosting your own St. Patrick's Day evening offers a fun and festive way to celebrate the Emerald Isle's rich brewing heritage. Join us as we embark on a journey to plan the ultimate Shamrockin' Soiree!

Set The Scene

Like December with Christmas trees, as soon as it hits Irish Heritage Month it's never too soon to set the scene for your St. Patrick's Day beer tasting party. Decorate your space with green and gold, shamrock banners, and Irish-themed decorations to create a festive atmosphere. Throw on a curated playlist of Celtic tunes to set the tone for the evening.

Get your stout on

Without a doubt an essential part of any St Patrick’s Day celebration! Who could imagine a day without it? The velvety smoothness and complex flavors of stout make it a favorite among beer enthusiasts looking to raise a glass in honor of St. Patrick. Don’t hang around to get this brewing! The total time to brew and condition Dark Matter is 7 days at least, with 12 days recommended (7 brewing, 5 conditioning).

Green with Envy

That’s how your friends may feel when you serve them a glass of your own freshly brewed beer. The highlight of any gathering will of course be the fruits of your own labors. There’s one consideration in terms of your beer selection - green! A little bit of green dye in your glass will get you sorted and you’ll be the talk of the town 😎 Of course, for an occasion like St Patrick’s Day, we’ll even get it if you want a bit more than beer! You’ll be forgiven if Jameson’s, Bailey’s, or even a certain beer beginning with G are part of the offering.

Food Pairings and Irish Fare

Complement your Dark Matter with an array of delicious food pairings and Irish-inspired fare. Classic dishes like Irish stew, corned beef and cabbage, and shepherd's pie are the perfect accompaniments to the rich, hearty flavors of stout.

Interactive Games and Activities

Any Irish trivia quiz has got to be on the cards - test your guests' knowledge of Irish culture, history, and traditions, with gag prizes to be won! At the right stage of the evening, it’ll then be time to move onto, of course, traditional Irish dancing 💃☘️  Teach them the basic steps of traditional Irish dances like the jig or reel, and watch as they tap their way to a toe-tapping good time, whether they’re embarrassed or not to be showing the moves.

Cheers to St. Patrick's Day

As the evening draws to a close, raise a toast to St. Patrick's Day and the luck of the Irish.

Hosting your own beer tasting party on St. Patrick's Day is a festive and fun way to celebrate the luck of the Irish with friends and loved ones.

Sláinte and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
